Implementation last updated: 2013
The information in this profile reflects feedback, if provided, from this model’s developer as of the above date. The description of the implementation of the model(s) here may differ from how the model(s) was implemented in the research reviewed to determine this model’s evidence of effectiveness. Inclusion in the implementation report does not mean the practices described meet the HHS criteria for evidence of effectiveness. Similarly, models described here may not all have impact studies, and those with impact studies may vary in their effectiveness. Please see the Effectiveness button on the left for more information about research on the effectiveness of the models discussed here.
Prerequisites for implementation
Staff education and experience
Supervisors must have a Masters in Social Work degree and experience in providing clinical supervision. During the replication project, Family Connections required home visitors to have a social work degree or equivalent experience.
During the replication project, Family Connections sites had to provide at least weekly clinical supervision to service providers and weekly clinical seminars or team meetings.
Staff ratio requirements
Home visitors must maintain caseloads low enough to provide a minimum of one hour of face-to-face intervention each week. This is usually accomplished with a caseload of 8 to 10 families, depending on the needs of the families. No information is available on the ratio of home visitors to supervisors.
