Operations Manuals

The MTB Treatment Manual describes the MTB model. The MTB Replication Planning Guide and MTB Replication Operations Manual provide additional instruction on administration and operations.

Top

Service Delivery Forms

MTB uses several forms for clinical record keeping and data collection. The forms are included in the Treatment Manual and Operations Manual.

Top

Assessment Tools

Implementing agencies are required to collect and submit data to the MTB National Office at regular intervals for evaluation and fidelity purposes. Data include descriptive family information, and checklists and measures assessing treatment fidelity. Detailed descriptions of suggested and required evaluation and fidelity measures are provided in the Operations Manual, and are discussed during the start-up phase of replication. The MTB National Office and the implementing agencies collaboratively develop a final evaluation plan.

Curriculum

MTB is a manualized model with flexible protocols; it does not follow a prescriptive, established curriculum, but does require specific, intensive training in the model and approaches. MTB protocols and approaches are provided in the training and replication materials.

Available Languages

Model materials are not available in languages other than English.

Fidelity Measurement

Based on best practice recommendations from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, MTB model fidelity is assessed across four domains: (1) design, (2) training, (3) delivery, and (4) receipt/enactment. The Operations Manual details the resources, protocols, measures, and monitor checks for each of these domains.

Replication sites are required to submit home visit and replication process data and participate in ongoing training and consultation that addresses effectiveness and fidelity.

Fidelity Standards

The MTB Fidelity Framework includes a formal site self-assessment and feedback from the MTB National Office on the following benchmarks:

  • Adherence to implementation requirements and essential elements
  • Effectiveness of organizational climate and implementation process
  • Adherence to treatment model
  • Adherence to data collection and submission requirements
