Program Model Description

The Parent-Child Home Program focuses on early childhood literacy and school readiness. The program model is designed for families with 2- to 3-year-old children and multiple risk factors—such as parents with low levels of education and teen mothers. The program model’s approach has home visitors model behaviors for enhancing children’s development, rather than directly instructing parents. Families receive two home visits per week for two years, and the program also provides materials, books, and referrals to social and educational services.
