Staff Education and Experience

Supervisors must have a Masters in Social Work degree and experience in providing clinical supervision. During the replication project, Family Connections required home visitors to have a social work degree or equivalent experience.

During the replication project, Family Connections sites had to provide at least weekly clinical supervision to service providers and weekly clinical seminars or team meetings.

Staff Ratio Requirements

Home visitors must maintain caseloads low enough to provide a minimum of one hour of face-to-face intervention each week. This is usually accomplished with a caseload of 8 to 10 families, depending on the needs of the families. No information is available on the ratio of home visitors to supervisors.
