Requirements for Program Certification

Staff must attend foundational training but are not certified.


Pre-Service Staff Training

Pre-service training is required and is tailored to each replicating site but generally includes training sessions, followed by practicum experiences and coaching.


In-Service Staff Training

Family Connections requires sites to provide opportunities for staff to participate in seminars, conferences, and training to support their ongoing professional development. No information is available about the frequency of in-service training required.


Training Materials

Family Connections provides supervisors and home visitors with a Family Connections intervention manual, which includes descriptions of the program components, and additional training materials that expand on those descriptions.


Qualified Trainers

Qualified trainers are available from the Ruth H. Young Center for Families and Children, as well as ACTION for Child Protection.


Technical Assistance

Technical assistance is available based on site needs and is provided by the Ruth H. Young Center for Families and Children.
